The Maharajahs Palace was built to seat the Wodeyar Maharajahs and was gutted in 1897 by a fire and rebuilt by a British architect Henry Irwin and completed in 1912.
The interior of the palace is stunning, a central domed area abounds with stained glass and reflects all over the interior off the central area.Trophies the Maharajahs collected are displayed in the entrance to the palace. The wall decoration is amazing the ceilings decorated like Starlit skies truly amazing.Unfortunately you could not take photos inside the palace and it was strictly enforced
we stayed for the evening light show which culminated in the entire periphery of the palace being lit by thousands of light bulbs truly spectacular,
