Driving a short distance out of Cuenca we visited Ikat Weaving Workshop which was Family run cottage industry. All the material used in the weaving was hand made using natural materials, the yarn from sheep and the dye from minerals. We had a brief stop at the orchid farm but this was more like a shop with an indoor displaying of hundreds of different and species of orchid. The little market at Gualaceo was another colourful and interesting place with the locals in their traditional dress going about their business.
