We arrived at the Charles Darwin Research Centre shortly after breakfast. Here we were introduced to the giant tortoises including Lonesome George, although he was not about to pose for the camera, as he just turned his back on us! Happily the rest were quite happy to provide us with some good poses. Lots of ET look alikes!! Or was it the other way round! After leaving the research centre, we wandered to Puerto Ayora where reached the waterside fishmongers, it was fascinating to watch the activities going on here, as it was a major attraction, not just to us tourists but to a menagerie of resident wildlife, as we watched pelicans, marine iguanas, sea lions, gulls etc. all vying for position as they scavenged for any pickings of the day's catch.
